Continuing with the Mersey Valley, we go the furthest end to the other side of Chorton Water Park and recommend Sale Water Park . If you fancied walking the whole scope of Mersey Valley it would take you a good 90-120 mins to cover all of this and you and your dog(s) will be nice and exercised afterwards. You can reach this by either walking along the top of the brook, or by taking a route left from Jackson’s Boat. From the Jackson’s Boat route you can enter the Park by crossing over 5 stepping stones as the Lake narrows off at the end. It can be very muddy after recent rain fall so be careful if you do this route. The Park can also be accessed form the car park near Deckers Restaurant, which can be entered from M60 motorway, junction 6.
The lake isn’t as big as the one in Chorlton Water Park however, you do get a lot of sail boats and water sport activities especialloy in the summer. There are also lots of geese and ducks so if your dog(s) tend to run at them you may be advised to keep them on a lead until you pass by. There is also a shelter to watch a variety of birds in the marshes so don’t fotget your binoculars.
