Chorlton Ees – Ivy Green route

chorlton-ees-path-ecotherapy sessions manchester wales cheshire lancashire derbyshire england united kingdomI’ve done this route so many times I can’t believe I haven’t included it yet! This is a walk that would take approx 1 hour unless you wanted to venture out further then it’s up to you.

If you drive to the small car park named Ivy Green, which is just near the Bowling Green pub and nearby to Beech Road, and Chorlton Ville. ivy green

You will see 3 paths that lead out from the car park – left, middle and right. Take the right path (or the left and do this route in reverse order) and keep to the right at all times. On this route you will see an exit it on to Ivy Green Road, but instead just follow the path to the left of this. The further on you walk you will come up to a gate which you can walk by and once you are past this you will arrive at a big field which is Turn Moss, which I have done a write up about in a recent post. You may want to stop off here or you may have no choice if your pooch sees it and wants to go for a run in the open field 🙂 There is also another playing field to the left so you may want to give this a look.

If not, just carry on walking up the path and you will see some steps at the top which will lead to the River Mersey Brook. You can either walk up these and turn left, or just stay on the path below and walk left. There is a path you can take to the right but this will extend the walk and I’ll cover this in another post. So now you’ve kept to the left you should be more than half way round of this route. The path will lead you all the way around the playing field on the left just mentioned, and if you stick to this path it will lead you all the way back to the car park which will end on the path you saw on the left hand side of the car park. Sounds confusing but once you’ve walked this a few times  you’ll find it easy – enjoy!
