We have a very young new addition to our walks, and she is a cutie indeed! Jeane is a 4 month old Lakeland Terrier and she came on her first walk last week and has enjoyed her time with us.
As she is so young and her owners have only recently welcomed her to the family, she is on short solo walks on her lead. Well, when I say solo she has been out with Mickey, who she loves as she is always walking by his side which is very cute to watch. She lives near Chorlton Ees so not too far for us to walk there and enjoy this lovely warm Spring weather we’ve been having.
We’ll see how she gets on with her next few walks and then maybe she can meet some new doggy friends, and maybe see how she gets on off her lead. Watch this space. Here are some pics of the little girl…
This will get a few awwws I bet! We were joined by a very sweet puppy called Crash, who was adopted by Leo’s owners and therefore came on our walks this week.
Crash is a staffie cross, and estimate her age to be around 6 months, so she our youngest member of the gang! Leo seems happy to have a new friend at home although from the looks of things, she teases him rotten! They cannot contain their excitement when I arrive to take them out. Crash is still getting used to her surroundings and occasionally stops for a look around in the park. She gets plenty of attention from other people in the park and it’s easy to see why.
At the moment, she is smaller than Leo but that will soon change over the next few months. She will be attending puppy classes and it will be a pleasure to see her progress, and learn new tricks. I can see they’re going to be a right cheeky pair when out together 🙂 At the moment she is on lead walks however, once her legs get stronger and she has some recall lessons we’ll see what happens. Here are some pics of Crash…
I’ve only just realised that I haven’t yet posted a welcome blog for Hendrix, who has been on walks for 3 weeks now. So a big belated welcome to Hendrix!
Hendrix is a 2-year-old Boston Terrier and is such a cutie! Hendrix has been getting used to his new surroundings and has joined us on some walks with his new mate Mickey, who get along just great! Hendrix does like to tease him though. For a small pooch he can certainly jump quite high – when I arrive to take him out he cannot control his excitement and must have springs in his legs the height he reaches when jumping up at me 🙂
Here are some pics of Hendrix:-
This week we had two new brothers join the group, a pair of dachshunds called Hugo and Winston who are both 15 months old.
Their owners have just moved to the Chorlton area so unfortunately, their usual dog walker was unable to carry on taking them out. they have a lot to get used to, new house, new area new walker and new doggy friends but thankfully they were very friendly and affectionate when I first went to visit them, and were very excited when they went out on their first walks with us. They both were a little nervous some days but once they were out exploring and mooching they were very happy pooches 🙂 and showed their appreciation by jumping all over me back home and licking me!
Hugo and Winston will be out with us every other week and will hopefully settle in to their new surroundings in no time. Here are a few pics of the cheeky duo…
A big welcome to this little cutie Leo, the Jack Russell who is 1 year old and very lovable!
Leo joined us today on a group walk and he thoroughly enjoyed himself! He went out with the 2 Dexters and Mickey, and he was so excited to have a set of new pooch pals. He’s a fast little runner too for such short legs – Dexter the schnauzer was out-run on some occasions!
Mickey loves him too and he always shows a bit more fondness when he meets his own kind – I was hoping for a little JRT for this reason.
Here are some pics of him in action…
I’ve been on regular dog walks in Sale, and never really knew of this place until someone i was talking to in Worthington Park suggested it. I’ve driven past it on the motorway and on Dane Road, but never really noticed it.
Not sure why they call it ‘gardens’ as it’s a just woodland and dirt tracks so maybe it used to be something years ago. There is no link to it on the website so couldn’t do any read ups about it. I visited Priory Gardens a few weeks ago with Fred and Basil and it’s not bad at all. If you want to walk your dog somewhere quiet and by this I mean not many other dogs or people, then it’s worth a visit. It’s not like a quiet woodland though as you have the sound of the traffic from the motorway and also the metro link line which runs at the side of it. It does have paths you can take to get to Sale Water Park so if you wanted to pad out your walk then have a walk over the big white bridge, or at the side which runs alongside the metro line.
You won’t get lost as all the paths will take you back to the main car park area. It may be best to take some decent footwear on rainy days, or following any wet days as it can be quite muddy!
You can get to Priory Gardens from Dane Road, or by joining it from the Water Park.
For a few days this week, and early next week, little Kia joined us on our walks. Kia is a Staffordshire Terrier, and I used to see Kia and her owners on my early morning walks before I started work in my previous job.
Kia hasn’t changed with her playfulness and just loves being out with other pooches and having a ball to play with. This week she has been out with Charlie, Honey, Barney and Bella who she normally sees out on her regular walks.
Here are some pics of her in action…
A big welcome along to the gang for Bouncing Boris, who is a cute silky brown Cocker Spaniel!
I met Boris and his owner a few weeks back prior to their move over to Sale, which happened over the weekend. Boris joined us for his first walk today, and despite all the stress with moving and new surroundings he hit the ground running and bouncing about!
He was very cagey when I first met him which I was told he is like with most new people he meets. No worries on that score though after a couple of treats and a run around Wythenshawe Park with Mickey, Monty and Smokey, I was his new best friend.
Boris will get to meet more new pooch pals and explore new areas over the next few weeks so look out for pics of him soon.
Today, I visited Sully who is a lovely and playful chocolate Labrador, who is labr(adorable)! See what I did there 😉
Sully will be joining us for walks next week and his owners say that he loves to play ball and hang around with other pooches. They’ll be no problems arranging this for him!
He also likes to swim and have a paddle so in this nice warm weather we’ve been having recently, we’ll have to take him somewhere that has a lake or river. I was told he also likes carrots so there should be no worries about him missing the ball with his good eyesight.
Welcome to the team Sully and we’ll look forward to taking you out soon 🙂
